In 1914, Dr. Shinichi Suzuki developed a revolutionary way to teach children
music. Dr. Suzuki observed how all children learn to speak their mother tongue
language fluently through repetition, encouragement, and love by their parents.
He realized parents are natural teachers and began to teach very young children
music in the same way, with the parent, teacher and child working closely
together with amazing results.
Dr. Suzuki thought the role of the parent was so critical in education that
he was known to have said music education should begin 9 months before the
birth of the mother!
